Each year comes the month name Thai (January/February) and Pusam, the holy month for Hindus mark a celebration called Thaipusam. Temple located in Batu Caves, Selangor will be crowded by humans, gathering Hindus from all over the country. They turn up with thousands of capitulation and expectation. Like a feast, the Hindus will march all nightlong carrying idol as big as Kavadi, to as small as pot filled with milk marching towards and climbing the stairs of the temple. The exhaustion, agony and dedication that they carried on their shoulders indicate their of their soul to Murugan God who have fulfilled their wishes. The more arduous and difficult the ritual are such as rolling over or puncturing metal into the body the higher and closer their soul to Murugan God. This seemingly painful journal looks strange but those who performs the ritual act have no feeling of physical responses to the cruel practice as all are “protected” by the spiritual and mental endurance. It becomes their manifesto towards the purification of the soul.
